Enforcement results announced

METAMORA – State Police have announced recent holiday enforcement activity results.

Troopers in District 8, which includes five counties, answered 206 calls for service and initiated 1350 incidents in the field.

Enforcement figures totaled 446 citations and 360 written warnings, including 252 speeding citations, 15 DUI’s, 31 seatbelt violations, two child restraint citations, 96 written warnings and 13 criminal arrests. Police also assisted 343 motorists, investigated 54 traffic crashes and conducted 204 motor carrier inspections resulting in 17 unsafe commercial motor vehicles placed out of service.

More than 300 citations were issued for fatal four violations of speeding, DUI, failure to wear a seatbelt and distracted driving.
