Governor withdraws rules
Gov. Pritzker has withdrawn emergency rules which many said would harm the business community.
The Illinois Department of Public Health decided to pull the governor’s emergency rules which would have allowed business owners to be charged with a Class A misdemeanor, which carries a punishment of up to a year in jail or a $2,500 fine.
“The governor was forced to listen to the huge public outcry over what would have been a massive overreach of power,” said Senator Sue Rezin. “This is not the end, but a small step in the right direction.”
