Dwight interchange to close for bridge work

Crews are preparing to demolish the southern half of the Illinois Route 17 bridge at the Interstate 55 and Illinois 17 interchange in Dwight.

This means the interchange will close starting this week through Oct. 21 so workers can start the demolition process. It is part of a $9 million project to replace the bridge over the interstate.

Completion is anticipated for mid-June of the coming year.
