The Pontiac FFA Chapter started National FFA Week with its annual auction last Saturday as they see continued support.

“We loved having the community come out and all of our hard work paid off,” said Pontiac FFA president Alexa Hittle, a senior at PTHS.

Auction items were gathered from local businesses and community members over the past few weeks.

“It’s going to be a really good year to follow with all of the earnings we received,” Hittle adds.

The chapter has participated in national contests to compete with CDE’s.

“We did a chapter exchange to Oklahoma and we did a hay drive sending hay down south to those affected by the hurricane,” explained FFA officer Cole Rapp, a PTHS junior.

Members are exposing agriculture to the younger grades as eighth graders had the chance last month to see what the Pontiac program is all about and the FFA will visit kids to teach them about where their food comes from through Ag in the Classroom.
