Streator man arrested after wreck
A Streator man was transported to the Livingston County Jail over the weekend after a rollover crash which resulted in one passenger being pronounced dead at the scene late Saturday night.
Lazaro Flores was arrested on scene, according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and taken to jail where he was charged with: reckless homicide, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration over .08, improper traffic lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Reckless homicide is a class 3 felony with a sentencing range of 2-5 years in prison if a person is found guilty. The driving under the influence of alcohol charges are both class 2 felonies. Flores was released from jail after posting a $15,000 cash bond and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff Detectives and Illinois State Police.
