Tipsword sworn-in with 104th General Assembly
State Representative Dennis Tipsword (R-Metamora) was sworn in to a second term in office as part of Illinois’ new 104th General Assembly.
Rep. Tipsword represents the 105th District in the Illinois House of Representatives. District 105 includes all or parts of Livingston, McLean, Putnam, Marshall, Bureau, LaSalle, Tazewell, Peoria, and Woodford counties.
“I am honored to be able to represent residents in the 105th District for two more years,” stated Rep. Tipsword. “I will continue to be your voice in Springfield not as a politician, but as a citizen legislator, former small business owner, and active law enforcement officer with the right experience to advocate for common sense policies.”
Rep. Tipsword, a life-long resident of Woodford County with over 30 years of public service in law enforcement, resides in Metamora with his wife Betsy. Their family continues to grow, with three children and now eight grandchildren keeping them busy. Rep. Tipsword’s first term in office focused on improving public safety and economic prosperity, among other key initiatives, and he will continue to work for policies that are in the best interests of residents in District 105.
“As a member of six committees in the House, I have worked to help make significant progress in several areas, including professional licensing and returning unclaimed property and money to their rightful owners,” added Rep. Tipsword. “I will continue our efforts to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners and stand strong against soft-on-crime policies like the SAFE-T Act that make our communities less safe.
“We have so much more work to do, including balancing a budget that faces a huge deficit and reversing course on policies that have driven businesses and families out of our state,” Rep. Tipsword concluded.
